Samsung introduces new foldable smartphones

Samsung Electronics, a global phone manufacturer, has unveiled its latest premium foldable smartphones. To maintain its dominance in a developing niche market, the company has also announced that it will raise the price to where it was last year.

The top-tier 5G-enabled Galaxy Z Fold4 with a 7.6-inch primary screen will start at $1,799.99 in the United States, the same price as last year’s models. The latest clamshell Galaxy Z Flip4 from the smartphone manufacturer is priced at $999.99.

Samsung Electronics President and Head of Mobile Experience, TM Roh, explained Samsung’s mission to make the latest technology more accessible to more people, saying that foldable phones are transforming and reshaping the mobile market, and Samsung is leading that evolution.

The Galaxy Z Fold4 is a powerful and productive smartphone with a large and immersive display that allows users to do a lot with one hand thanks to its 6.2-inch Cover Screen.

The 7.6-inch Main Screen makes it your ultimate do-more device on both hands. To go hands-free, set it down, find a good angle, and leave it there while you get more work done.

The design essentially makes it a two-in-one phone with the weight of a less flexible phone. Slimmed down except for the screen, the Fold’s minimized edges and lightweight materials make it even more pocket-friendly.

The Fold’s main feature allows users to switch between texts and emails and take full advantage of the large main screen with multi-view.

Grey-green, Phantom Black, and Beige are among the colors available.

The Galaxy Z Flip4 is a durable, customizable smartphone with a flex cam that lets you capture images from various angles.

The smartphone comes in various colors (Bora Purple, Graphite, Pink Gold, and Blue) that go with almost everything but stand out. The hazy glass finish creates a soft contrast to the high-shine, glossy metal frame.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is a stylish, full-sized smartphone that fits perfectly in a pocket when you’re on the go. The latest models, according to Samsung, make it easier for phone owners to use popular apps like Instagram.

Although the smartphone market is expected to shrink this year as consumers spend less, analysts predict that foldable smartphones will fare better due to their unique form, large screens, and portability.

In the first half of 2022, Samsung had a 62% market share in foldable smartphones, followed by Huawei at 16% and Oppo at 3%. After the new releases, Counterpoint predicts that Samsung’s share will be around 80% in the second half.

Samsung stated in the second half that it expects foldable phone sales to surpass those of its previous flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note.
