CBN to Launch Redesigned Website Monday, Promises Enhanced User Experience

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is set to unveil its newly redesigned website today, Monday, December 2, 2024. The upgraded platform, which will remain accessible via www.cbn.gov.ng, introduces a range of innovative features designed to enhance usability and broaden access to essential information.

A statement released on Sunday by Hakama Sidi Ali, the acting Director of Corporate Communications, highlighted the bank’s vision for the refreshed website. According to her, the new design reflects the CBN’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve public engagement.

“We are excited to announce the launch of our newly redesigned website.” This update brings improved navigation, faster performance, and an array of new content to simplify our mandate. It’s also fully responsive, ensuring seamless access across all devices and browsers.”

Built In-House and Backed by Public Input

The revamped site was entirely developed by the CBN’s internal technical team using Microsoft.NET Core 8—the latest release of the platform. The team crafted both the front-end interface and back-end architecture in-house. “This accomplishment highlights the technical team’s expertise and dedication to delivering an innovative digital platform

Sidi Ali emphasised the bank’s appreciation for the input it received from the public as their feedback guided the team during the development process.

The updated site will feature expanded content aimed at fostering a better understanding of the CBN’s operations and responsibilities. By incorporating user-friendly features and responsive design, the bank hopes to make critical information more accessible to a broader audience.

Strengthening Engagement and Transparency

CBN is also using the redesigned platform to strengthen its connection with stakeholders. Social media links will be prominently displayed on the homepage, making it easier for users to stay updated and engaged with the bank’s activities.

“This redesign is part of our broader commitment to improving communication and transparency with the public,” Sidi Ali explained.

The new website marks a significant step in the CBN’s digital journey, underscoring its proactive approach to innovation. As the site goes live, it is expected to provide Nigerians with a smoother, more informative online experience while reinforcing the bank’s role as a trusted resource for economic and financial insights.
