The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has revealed its plans to initiate nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel starting on August 15, 2025. To facilitate this effort, the company has introduced 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers, offering complimentary logistics support to registered petrol dealers, marketers, manufacturers, telecom firms, aviation operators, and other consumers. This initiative is anticipated to have a significant effect on Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market. According to reports, the refinery’s choice to utilize CNG-powered tankers is part of a larger strategy aimed at reducing logistics expenses, enhancing fuel accessibility, and promoting cleaner energy throughout Nigeria. The company is in the process of establishing CNG daughter booster stations and mini distribution hubs, supported by over 100 CNG-powered tankers, to facilitate nationwide delivery.

The initiative is projected to yield extensive economic advantages, including revitalizing inactive petrol stations, decreasing distribution and production costs, and fostering job creation throughout the fuel supply chain.
