Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Dr. Uzodinma Odenigbo as its new Corporate Affairs Director, effective May 1, 2025. This appointment follows the elevation of Mrs. Sade Morgan to a global role as Heineken’s Corporate Affairs Director for Africa, the Middle East, and Africa.
Dr. Odenigbo joined Nigerian Breweries in 2017 and has since played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s public, external, and government affairs. He began his tenure as the Public Affairs Manager for Southern Nigeria before expanding his influence across the nation. His strategic guidance to regional corporate affairs managers and leadership in stakeholder engagement has been instrumental in the company’s operations. A significant highlight of his tenure includes his contribution to the 2024 Nigerian Breweries Business Recovery Plan, where he helped deliver a robust communications and stakeholder engagement framework that ensured zero business disruption and no adverse media coverage.
In July 2024, Dr. Odenigbo was selected for a Short Term Assignment (STA) as corporate affairs director at Brarudi in Burundi. During this period, he led a successful corporate reputation campaign focused on sustainability, enhanced internal communications, and advanced key initiatives on exports, local sourcing, and tax advocacy within the East African Community. He also strengthened the capabilities of the Corporate Affairs team at Brarudi and operationalized the 2025 Corporate Affairs Playbook to ensure continuity and results-driven performance.
Dr. Odenigbo holds an MBA and a PhD in mass communications. He is known for his passion for emotional storytelling, exploring new horizons, and maintaining an active lifestyle. His appointment is seen as a move to help improve the Nigerian Breweries’ corporate affairs.
