Damilola Teidi has been appointed as the first-ever Head of Platform and Networks for African venture capital firm, Ventures Platform.
Teidi, who before joining Ventures Platform was Director of Startup Support at Co-creation Hub, will now oversee the venture firm’s efforts to support its portfolio companies.
She will lead a team focused on building and ensuring the effective delivery of expertise-driven and system-based post-investment support and value creation for the fund’s portfolio companies.
At Co-creation Hub, Teidi led the development of robust support systems for various startups across Africa, as well as provided direct support to startups and engaged with key stakeholders to create an enabling ecosystem for high-growth African startups to thrive.
“I am excited to join the team and build out different elements of the platform and networks’ practice,” Teidi said. “The goal is to build scalable support initiatives and harness the value of our collective networks to provide catalytic value to our founders.”
Kola Aina, General Partner at Ventures Platform Fund, in his statement expressed the firm’s excitement at the appointment. He noted that Teidi’s experience working with startups across Africa would assist the firm to provide adequate support to founders in its portfolio.
“VP Fund is thrilled to have Damilola onboard its leadership team. At Ventures Platform, we have always believed in supporting our founders to catalyse their efforts, and we intend to strengthen this as we scale,” said Aina. “Hence, we believe that Damilola Teidi’s skill and experience will be an asset in enabling us to achieve this goal.”
