VivaJets, the business aviation arm of Falcon Aerospace Limited, has received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), further positioning the company as a key player in Africa’s growing private aviation market.

“We are thrilled to announce that in January 2025, the NCAA awarded us the AOC, a vital milestone in our quest to become Africa’s largest and most efficient business aviation provider,” said Chukwuerika Achum, CEO of VivaJets.

The AOC grants airlines and charter operators the legal authority to use aircraft for commercial purposes, ensuring compliance with global aviation safety and operational standards. This certification not only strengthens VivaJets’ foothold in Nigeria but also enhances its ability to offer seamless and efficient air transportation across Africa.

Expanding Operations and Global Presence

The certification comes at a time of rapid expansion for VivaJets, which has been extending its reach across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The company has also established a Canadian office and actively participated in global aviation and investment summits, including the World Economic Forum (WEF), Africa CEO Forum (ACF), and the Africa Air Forces Summit.

“Now with the AOC, we continue to expand our fleet and global routes while seeking collaborations and investments to power our rapid growth and international expansion,” said Tejumade Salami, Chief Operating Officer.

VivaJets offers a range of business aviation services, including Aircraft Management, fractional ownership, and private jet charters. The company is also leveraging digital platforms and technological innovations to improve accessibility and affordability for business travelers.

Meeting Africa’s Rising Demand for Private Aviation

Africa’s private aviation sector is experiencing a significant boom, with private jet flights increasing by 15% in the past year. Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya are leading this surge, driven by a new generation of business leaders seeking seamless and efficient travel solutions.

“We continue to expand the scope and quality of our operations. We have maintained a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and luxury, ensuring our clients enjoy seamless charter flights,” said Mark Adoga, Head of Flight Operations at VivaJets.

With its newly acquired AOC and ambitious expansion plans, VivaJets is set to redefine business aviation in Africa, providing more choices for passengers and contributing to the continent’s evolving air travel landscape.
